Origami New Year @ BCG

Every year on the Chinese Lunar New Year, clients look for ways to connect with the holiday.  One of the best ways to celebrate is with the ancient art of origami, which actually began with the invention of paper in China.  This is the year of the dragon, and the Boston Consulting Group asked Taro’s Origami Studio for private lessons at 2 of their offices to celebrate.

First there were discussions about how BCG wanted the events to go, and they Jeff Raab the Head Teacher for the studio, got to work on his dragon models that were both fun and easy enough to teach.

For the event in New Jersey, the class was small enough to teach by himself, but for the event in Manhattan Frank Ling joined him so that they could teach more people.

These events were setup as dropby stations.  That way people had a window of time to stop by and fold withough having a set class time that might not work on their calendar.  By the end of the 2 hour session, everyone that came by had successfully folded several orgiami models and was able to enjoy the change of pace from the workday.
