The holiday season is upon us and Taro’s Origami Studio is making the origami folding rounds in Manhattan.  Last weekend Taro’s Senior artist Ben Friesen was at the famous Saks Fifth Avenue store location for two events with Hermès luxury fragrances.  The Saks Fifth Ave location is the flagship store for the oldest commercial corporation in North America.

The store location was decorated for the holidays and also included their very-own origami kits to hand out to guests.  Hermès created the kits using their custom patterned paper so that people could take something home and learn a bit of origami themselves.

During the event Mr. Friesen created unique origami gifts for anyone stopping by their store and folded models as simple as flowers, cranes and puppy dogs, to as complex as giraffes, unicorns, and hippopotamuses.

Once the event was over for weekend, guests and artists alike were encourage to take in the famous Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday light show outside the store.
