Last week Taro’s Origami studio had the privilege of teaching a group of team members from Patreon, the membership platform that connects content creators with their fans.
The team found Taro’s while searching for unique activities for their mindfulness program. Taro’s recently also taught a bunch of classes for Asian American and Pacific Islanders Awareness month that you can see below.
Senior artists Frank Ling and Ben Friesen taught the class about the history of origami and answered many great questions about the studio and what it’s like to be an origami artist.

After about an hour of lively discussion and teaching, the whole team was able to show off their models and bask in their achievements. The traditional flapping bird (even though it was the hardest of the models) was definitely a highlight of the class, with everyone learning how to get the birds to fly.
